🏀 John Wall Retirement: Five-Time NBA All-Star Ends Career at 34

John Wall, former Washington Wizards star and five-time NBA All-Star, has officially announced his retirement at age 34. After two years without a team, Wall took to Instagram to share the news, saying he had “given everything to the game.”

🚀 A Promising NBA Career

Wall was the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, following a standout season at Kentucky. He spent his first nine seasons with the Washington Wizards, quickly becoming the face of the franchise.

His peak came in 2017 when he averaged 23.1 points, 10.7 assists, and 2 steals per game. That season, he finished 7th in MVP voting. Wall also won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2014, highlighting his explosive athleticism.

⚠️ Injuries Changed Everything

Wall’s career took a major hit in 2019 after a torn Achilles tendon sidelined him for over a year. He later played for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers, but never fully regained his former level.

He last played in the 2022–2023 season, appearing in 34 games for the Clippers, averaging 11.4 points per game. Since then, he remained unsigned.

🏆 Legacy of John Wall

Over 11 NBA seasons, Wall averaged 18.7 points, 8.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He was widely regarded as one of the top point guards of the 2010s, during an era stacked with talent like Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, and Russell Westbrook.
