🏁 Oscar Piastri to Have Grandstand Named After Him at 2026 Australian Grand Prix

Oscar Piastri, Australia’s F1 star and current championship leader, will receive a rare honor at his home race in Melbourne. The 2026 Australian Grand Prix will feature a grandstand named after him, marking a significant tribute to his achievements.

The announcement came from the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. They revealed that the Oscar Piastri Grandstand will be located along the main straight, directly facing the pit lane — a high-profile spot on the Albert Park Circuit.

Piastri, born in Melbourne, shared his excitement in a statement. “This feels unreal. I never imagined this happening so early in my career. The support from fans is incredible, and I can’t wait to see it all next March,” he said.

Recognition Among Racing Legends

This tribute places Piastri alongside Australian F1 icons. Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber, and Daniel Ricciardo all have grandstands named in their honor at Albert Park.

Additionally, the famous Fangio Grandstand, dedicated to five-time world champion Juan Manuel Fangio, will be expanded and split into two sections for the 2026 edition.

Still Chasing Home Podium Glory

Although Piastri has already secured eight F1 wins, he has never reached the podium in Melbourne. With this new honor and overwhelming home support, he will be more motivated than ever to change that at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix.
